The more you fear the wrath of RNGesus, the longer you should continue with a given item before swapping to the next.
This part of BSM is still terrible! See below for a list of some of the cheapest items with the most valuable desynth yields.
Ffxi smithing desynth
The r dungeon gear can give BC3s though. Also like normal desynthesis, some of the items acquired can have nothing to do with the craft actually used to desynth the item in question. Often the materials from these items are worth so much that you will either break even or make a profit from desynthing them. You can always get x of the appropriate leather when desynthing the below items. Please feel free to edit where needed. A notable exception are the Beastcoins - turning them into Ingots is a standard synthesis, not a desynth, and as such follow ordinary success and HQ rules. This part of BSM is still terrible! Meld it at least twice, but up to 4 times! As before though, it has no way to get Primal demimateria except Demimog or Mastercraft Demimateria. At present, there are items on some servers that will make you back in mats as much gil as you spend to get the desynth fodder if you choose the right items, and sometimes even a profit. Going from The process of desynthesis usually has more failures than regular crafting, so in order to maximize your results, it is recommended to undertake desythesis with crafting supports which minimize your chances of losing the item if the desynthesis fails.
I believe that leveling ALC would be one of the more annoying classes due to the number of recipes that require intermediate equipment, and later on, your options are extremely limited and expensive.
